The Hostal Puerto Genovés is situated in the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata-Níjar. It is one of the best protected place in the whole of the Spanish Mediterranean coast

The Natural Park of Cabo de Gata-Níjar offers wonderful sandy beaches such as Mónsul, El Playazo, El Arco, Cala San Pedro, Cala de Enmedio amongst many others. It also has beautiful coves of crystal clear water and spectacular cliffs.

The benign climate allows bathing most months of the year and enjoy exceptional weather the rest of the year for outdoors activities such as rambling. You will discover a very beautiful and varied semi-desertic scenery of volcanic origin, with much geological wealth and peculiar vegetation such as fruiting cacti, palm trees “palmitos” and other plants adapted to sun drench climate.

In the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata-Níjar you will also find several villages such as La Isleta, Rodalquilar, Las Negras, Agua Amarga, etc… where to eat and enjoy the characteristics environment of each one.

The Natural Park of Cabo de Gata-Níjar contains also an interesting historical patrimony. We recommend you o visit the Cortijo del Fraile (see Garcia Lorca "Blood wedding") the Church of Las Salinas, or the Torre de Los Alumbres, among others.

RECOMMENDATION TO THE VISITOR. GOOD ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICES

- Respect the traditional roads adapted for circulation, being forbidden to circulate outside the lanes enabled for them.
- Park your vehicle in designated areas.
- By virtue of what is established in current environmental legislation, it is not allowed to camp outside the areas provided for it.
- Remember that it is not allowed to make a fire in the area of the Natural Park
- It is forbidden to prune, start or harvest plant species.
- The animal fauna of the park is protected, do not disturb it.
- In the marine environment, the collection of species is prohibited, as well as underwater fishing
- The practice of any sport fishing activity requires being in possession of the corresponding licenses.
- Remember that noise or loud music are forms of pollution.
- Deposit the waste in the garbage containers enabled for it.
