| From San José you can start visits to different places of interest of the province of Almeria with very spectacular natural landscapes and villages which had preserved very singular character.
Nijar is a large village inland which deserves a visit. There you will find a lot of traditional artisans skills. We recommend you visit the potters shops, ceramics, “jarapas” (traditional heavy cloth), products, etc… Also in Sorbas there are many traditional crafts and you can visit there the karst caves of the “Paraje Natural de Sorbas”. Also deserve a visit Lucainena de Las Torres and the desert of Tabernas, where numerous western films were shot. You can still see the constructed decor and mock-up sets of the period. We also recommend you to visit the prehistoric “yacimiento de Los Millares” and in Almeria City the Alcazaba, the Cable Inglés.
And for those who like the road exploring landscapes and villages you will see an astonishing variety on the Alpujarra Almeriense and the Sierra de Filabres. |
